Phuong Nguyen (born in 2001) is currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She turned to photography as a form of spiritual therapy after the trauma of her family’s collapse, using it as a medium to convey her inner depths. Through photography, Phuong Nguyen expresses the loneliness, emptiness, and unease within her soul and the surrounding world. She perceives the world as a “fleeting carnival” - radiant, filled with the dazzling light of liveliness and crowds, yet transient and fragile. In this perception, she approaches death as a koan - a profound riddle to contemplate the nature of nothingness and the serene stillness of death.
