“You want to free a bird from its cage because you believe a bird exists. In a world full of flowers, there’s also a fish keeping watch on you." After my parents’ divorce, I grew to resent the outside world. So, I isolated myself, not realizing that I was punishing myself through my actions.
This series depicts that fevered dream, a space suspended between reality and the obscure, where I transform into different entities that confront and reflect one another. The dream is a story of my inner war between loneliness, anger, and a desire to destroy everything. Death fascinates me, for it grants me the power over life and demise in my own world, while also striking me like a blow that forces me to look back at everything. I also find comfort in witnessing the end of all things; at the same time, the feeling of dying, or, in other words, dissolving and vanishing into everything, brought me a sense of peace.
